#Matriculation
Hello again! I'm trying to raise funds for my matriculation fees this semester, to help out my parents who are paying for it.

Even sharing it out helps!

The University of Chicago Economics department should have had its matriculation gates guarded by thousands of hungry monsters like Naomi Novik's scholomance books

This is maddening. This also fuels my concern about R1 state universities bragging about high matriculation rates amid an enrollment cliff. Unless your uni is prepared to fill in the gaps in all these skills students will be lacking… Is it ethical to admit ppl just to keep #s high?

College students, stressed about federal food aid uncertainty, look to campuses for support
U.S. college students who receive federal food aid are looking to their campuses for support because the program known as SNAP is in limbo during the government shutdown.

I was looking through a storage box for a couple of documents I needed, and discovered a file full of my O, A, and S level papers. Here are the maths A-level ones...I looked through them and now feel a) old and b) stupid. I passed this one in 1983.

NCEED Faculty had a beautiful morning celebrating the Founder's Day Matriculation Convocation at Morgan State University!

Plus, since it's much, much harder (quantifiably so) to get in to the super elite schools now, that elite degree from 1970s, 90s, has actually *increased* in prestige since then. There's diploma inflation the other way. Your 1978 Harvard matriculation is way less impressive than one from 2025!

It’s matriculation day so a lot of students are busy. My teen would have been there on your side.

I completely missed this - it seems to have been a rather busy day in the town centre, with Matriculation, an International Food Fair, a poster and houseplant sale (in the same location as the far right demo and the trans rights counter demo?!), and the usual tourist crowds.
Crowds gathered in Oxford's Bonn Square today to demonstrate both for and against trans rights. The ‘Let Women Speak (LWS) movement had organised a demonstration, fronted by anti-trans activist Posie Parker with around 30 protesters.

In 2020, due to social distancing, students receive picnic hampers in place of the traditional matriculation dinner.

four types of private schools in america:

1) catholic schools for racists
2) nondenom schools that dont teach you science
3) hippie schools that dont teach you to read, inexplicably 87% matriculation @ top 20 colleges
4) hogwarts, costs 55k/yr, explicably 99% matriculation @ top 20 colleges
Having gone to a really shitty private school is so funny. People hear “private school” and rightly think my parents were well off but instead of playing lacrosse or whatever I was learning young earth creationism from a Russian antisemite in portables outside a church

5) schools to help "troubled" children, costs 55k/year and tells you how to file an IDEA suit to pay for it, explicably 2% matriculation at any college

If you look at the comments, you'll see the occasional "No, this is not propaganda, the Insurrection Act is from the '92 riots so it's contextualized *in* the article"

But the thing is, news corps know (more than anyone) how low the matriculation from seeing a headline to reading actually is.

"President Donald Trump and his top aides are using the word 'insurrection' more frequently to describe anti-ICE protests in places like Portland," writes Zachary B. Wolf. https://cnn.it/4pWYmzr

The “diagnosis” of Autism Spectrum Disorder is fairly meaningless and almost certainly capturing multiple disorders—and even personality styles.

The prognosis can be anything from being non-verbal and requiring lifetime care to matriculation at MIT.

I put up a goal on my ko-fi because I want to help my parents pay for my matriculation fees.

My mom lost her full-time job so my dad has taken on most of our expenses.

Any amount will help immensely! If you can't give anything, even sharing this around will help, too.

Interesting specifics of how the regime, w/ assistance from companies like Palantir and Google, erased the false sense of privilege the writer thought he carried by virtue of his UK passport, London accent, Ivy League matriculation, and lack of criminal record.

Remember: the first paragraph of the agreement (quoted in the original post in this thread) laid out a series of "benefits" the universities are getting from their "extraordinary relationship" with the federal government: not just grants but student loans, student visas, and even 501(c)(3) status.

I visited DC International School today to hear about the matriculation of students from Ward 5 schools like Mundo Verde PCS, DC Bilingual PCS, and EW Stokes PCS, as I continue to advocate for the expansion of dual-language and immersion programs.

Happy matriculation to all our new students 🌟

Matriculation is when students are formally admitted as members of the University.

Here are our new matriculants at @jesuscollegecam.bsky.social, wearing their formal gowns for the first time.

Morning. Feeling under the weather, but it could be side effects of having jabs 🤔 Had a nice day with daughter yesterday; her intro lecture went well, followed by a lovely lunch at Pho. Matriculation is today, and formal dinner, I’m praying she manages it ok.
Have a good day all 💜
