A photograph by John Burke of a tower on the walls of Jalalabad, Afghanistan, taken in about 1878. In this tower were buried the bodies of General Elphinstone and other British soldiers killed during the retreat of the Kabul garrison to Jalalabad during the First Afghan War in January 1842.

Gosh, I've never heard of them doing that before.

There was one report by the Jalalabad HTT in 2012 or so that tried to explain why green-on-blue attacks were exploding, based on interviews with ANA soldiers, that seemed like it was a model of “okay yeah we can really use this, you have a seat at the table” for the BCT

Has anyone discussed whether these tags on accounts are even accurate? X could put anything there and nobody asks how they know that person is really in Japan or Jalalabad. IP addresses don’t tell the whole story just as X can’t be expected to tell the truth.

Today we have been gifted Bolani, which I can't eat (wheat) but are vegetarian 🥳
"Bolani is made for special occasions like birthday parties, engagement parties or holidays.
It is widely sold on the streets in Afghanistan, particularly in cities such as Kabul, Peshawar, Jalalabad and Kandahar"

rand paul is willing to withhold unanimous consent to advance his agenda but democrats are not

i.e., rand paul is more committed to protecting KY weed farmers than the democratic party is to stopping ICE thugs from raiding a daycare like they're storming Jalalabad
Not much new here, but reiterates that Paul is threatening to withhold unanimous consent to drag out the shutdown unless his amendment is adapted that would save the THC industry.
Rand Paul wants hemp vote to speed up shutdown endgame
His insistence on the hemp vote comes after a bruising fight with senior appropriators.
