FYI: Dems in the senate can't defund ICE. ICE is funded by the Big Ugly Bill. Shutting down DHS on this vote wouldn't touch ICE, but it would shut down FEMA, TSA, Coast Guard, etc. Shutting down ICE requires taking back Congress in the midterms. Dismantling DHS requires the White House in 2028.

1/ICE, contrary to longstanding 4th Amendment jurisprudence, now says it can enter people’s homes without a judicial warrant; an administrative warrant suffices. That's a form signed by a gov't employee who can be fired if they displease the president. It’s not difficult to see the problem here.

ICE could be considered Trump's alternative to sending in the National Guard, which SCOTUS didn't think was too legal. Now he has a personal army of Americans that either agree with his authoritarian rule, or just don't care, as long as the get paid. 🗽
