TODAY, Feb 19, head to the Hatcher Library, 4-6pm, for Third Thursdays at the Library. Today's open houses encompass a rare Japanese scroll, snowy maps, papyri and early books with Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, and children's books from around the world. https://myumi.ch/egXd2

It is at its core a retelling of the Odyssey by Homer, one of the oldest and most perfectly executed hero’s journey ever told. It is the direct antithesis to what the AI industry is currently trying to do.

Highguard unfortunately seems to have been a Homer's Car situation, where the devs made a game that appealed to them and them alone, and Geoff Keighley for some reason.

Post your OC and their species

In fact, her full name is Pauline Phelps, which sounds close enough like Polyphemus.

There has been some swearing 🤐 And it’s only half done because I had to go out for a few hours. Just poured myself a wine so probably best leave the rest until tomorrow. DIYing under the influence might end up a bit too Homer’s BBQ pit

With a little bit of Homer's endurance in the Homerpalooza/cannonball episode?

Can someone please ask Pauline Hanson if she read Homer's "Illyad". She will most likely say has not. Then ask her to review it. She will probably say she cant as she hasn't read it. Then ask her why she is willing to review the Koran if she has not read it either. Off you go. #auspol

I was trying to clarify that while the neolithic period (other commentator's point) does reach past the invention of writing, the early oral circulation of Homer's works predated that.
February 17, 2026 at 11:47 PM
Homer's work dates from 8thC BC, the earliest writing, as opposed to symbol use, dates from 3rdC BC.
