Good news!

Although not a TTRPG at all, I did enjoy some of the SPI hexgrid wargames of the 70’s, some of which were about an invasion of america (Invasion America and Minuteman) and others nato/warsaw pact battles, or even a near future War in the Ice.

Have people covered them yet?

Carr et al had a similar idea - applied to color encoding - back in the 80s! (From www.jstor.org/stable/2289444, paywalled…)
A 2D binned hexgrid plot with a color encoding that uses hue for the logarithmic order of magnitude and area of a black infill to linearly encode the less significant digits.

The first one is from @chaostwts and says "Unfortunately...#XSpoilers" It has an attached image of Kamala Khan, who is Ms. Marvel, with enlarged fists (that's normal, that's her original power) with hexgrid lines over it and sparkles (that's weird and new because its her mutant powers based on the MCU) and she is saying "I'm a mutant." (Which is also weird because she was originally an Inhuman. She is now both because she apparently had both genes and the Inhuman gene supressed the mutant gene originally because it was activated first). It then has a quote repost from a person named "RV "The Games Guy" Kennedie" that goes "got to hell" is basic. "I hope the MCU fucks up an adaption of your favorite hero and the comics retcon that into being the main canon is smart. it's terrifying. and its happened like 12 times now. (sic)

Not the same thing, but there's a pretty good quality game called Sunderfolk where all the classes are genderless woodland critters. It's a weird combo of D&D and Jackbox. Hexgrid fantasy combat & roleplaying but everyone controls it with their phone and you only need 1 copy per group.

My wife and I played Ecos the First Continent, her second time. Despite her Lions repeatedly eating my strategically placed storks, I still managed to beat her by 8 points. And I finally got to play Mount Kilimanjaro!
