#HelenLewis
#theatlantic did it again. They invited #helenlewis to write another #transphobic and biased piece. I had thought this #publication sought to be more than a ranting rag. Instead, they echo the #anti-trans bias like the #nyt.

Every once in a while, I think about how, after the US Guardian called out the UK Guardian et al for their transphobia, she went after Mona Chalabi, one of the journos at the former, and basically compared her to Tommy Robinson:

Why is Benjamin Ryan being so weird?

Does sharing Bluesky skeets on twitter help him gain substack subscriptions, or is he trying to direct online harassment to these users below?

Helen Lewis is questioning Lewis Goodall on Twitter.

Her grievance boils down to:

- She wasn’t “allowed” to debate trans rights on Newsnight

- The evidence for this is that Freddie McConnell and Paris Lees exercised their right to withdraw their participation

The Epstein scandal has devolved into mere political soap opera in the US, says @helenlewis. In the UK, ethical lapses still carry a serious political price. The UK has fired its US ambassador for writing a msg in the same bk as reportedly did the US president.

No such thing as having mild GC views. Either you're a bigot, or you're not. Being critical of the most marginalized communities makes them more vulnerable to violence than they already are.

Humans have tried for centuries to understand a quicksilver quality that defies explanation. In this week’s Time-Travel Thursdays, @HelenLewis writes about the flawed ways we decide who is a “genius”:

No I very much am contesting the central claim: “Lifesaving” is a perfectly reasonable way to describe a treatment that reduces depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation in a population with high rates of all three!

Helen Lewis deserves a hashtag of her own.
The "misinformation" in question here is that gender-affirming care reduces suicides among youth. It merely reduces depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicidal ideation.
