See, I read this and think, you grew up in Iowa and married a guy who works at the post office and took you to Stinky’s on your first date. You were young and he was cute and now you have 7 kids and can’t afford childcare help and he’s trying to convince you to homeschool them. Help.
If you want to do something like this, why not buy a $150k home in a small town in Italy, France, Spain, or Mexico, instead of having nine people share one bathroom after they eat at a restaurant called "Stinky's?"

RFK Jr. needs to be handed off to Pinhead and the fellas immediately. Win/win. He gets to have fun getting gibbed by BDSM meat hooks for all eternity and we don’t have to watch polio rip through every homeschool community

If you feel like an opinion piece criticizing the utter lack of homeschool oversight in much of the country is criticizing you, you should stop homeschooling and put your children in a traditional school immediately, because you're clearly the neglectful homeschoolers the piece is talking about.

Hey Heritage Society bigots, eugenicists & other goons:
Y’all can’t make REAL education vanish in this country. Human knowledge is forever.
100’s of 1000’s of those who’ve actually studied REAL civics & history are happy to “homeschool” the kids like this pro-Kat sister!
My campaign is now getting third graders fired up about the Geneva Conventions.

As a former public school teacher, I had no issue with parents who chose to homeschool. It is the lack of oversight (as this article clearly states) that bothers me.

Maybe if r/homeschool wasn't constantly encouraging educational neglect in the name of unschooling, and victim blaming literal children for not homeschooling themselves all the time, they wouldn't be going all hit dogs holler about the NYT opinion piece being "anti-homeschooling."
From the homeschool community on Reddit: Heads up: NYT 12/14 has a very anti-homeschooling op-ed

Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson are radicalizing ordinary Americans against Jews in a startling effective way.

Not against Israel — but against Jews.

Normie moms and homeschool moms who would never have cared about American Jewry are invested now thanks to Candace and Tucker who is aiding her.

"enforce the village raising the children instead of allowing individualist brainrot to turn every child's upbringing into an increasingly closed-off space of antisocial distance from reality" is my mindset I guess

homeschool is a sick and deranged consequence of an equally sick and deranged system
December 14, 2025 at 2:02 AM
It always had a strong base in the homeschool movement which is one of the most politically powerful and deranged groups in the conservative political space

An excellent history of the early homeschool movement:

Right, but in her case, her rights would have been protected by the state regulations that used to exist

Now states have few regulation left to protect children who are homeschooled; the parents can do whatever they want, there are many scams that sell useless garbage to the parents who homeschool

In which a Border Patrol agent and a youth minister abuse their adoptive daughter to death. The girl was homeschooled; the homeschool sponsors knew and did nothing. The family was evangelical; members of their church knew and did nothing. A San Diego police officer knew, and GAVE THE FAMILY PADDLES.
“Prosecutors say Arabella's adoptive father, Brian McCormack, a Border Patrol agent, would also be facing criminal charges if he were alive today. He took his own life in front of deputies just hours after Arabella died.”
San Diego County agrees to pay $10M over adopted girl’s death; total now $31.5M
The city of San Diego, the Rock Church, a San Diego police officer and the Pacific Coast Academy were also named as defendants in the civil suit.

As a homeschool graduate whose parents did actually try to provide an academically successful experience—no. Just no.

I will NEVER homeschool my daughter…for social reasons and I believe I can’t replace her teacher in that classroom …even with my degrees..

mannnnn kirk cousins is the only one who could bring the postgame down ‘oh we homeschool it’s fine’ be quiet weirdo!

I don't know of a more depressing site than YouTube Kids. Anxious homeschool parents getting paid pennies to jam cameras into the faces of their bored children and demanding that they play with monster trucks with them.

(And I would have done fine in school, though I understand the reasons my parents were convinced by their community that it was the right choice to homeschool me and my brother, and don’t begrudge them. My brother would not have done great.)

6. Candace’s normie mom base includes homeschool moms, moms who drop their kids off at school, but it also includes a diverse coalition with respect to race, gender, political ideology, sexual orientation, and religious identity, and they are also geographically diverse.

We are terrifying them. My daughter now has social anxiety because she feared being killed at school. We homeschool and she isn’t going to Yale because I’m NOT an education specialist. Our elected leaders have FAILED us and our children in every possible way.

writes the Guardian's Isaaq Tomkins. "A relative of the starfish, they breathe through their feet, and while their spikes are a formidable defence against predators, they also provide refuge for smaller marine creatures."

I've run into a bunch of people who homeschool their kids, join cults, forbid college etc, so their kid will never have a different religion than them. They seem like people who just can't live in a complex society, and take it out on everyone else.
