A depressing thing about contemporary culture is that back in the 90s you had loads of 60s/70s acts making big critically acclaimed returns: Bowie, Dylan, Nelson, Young, Emmylou Harris. And yet you struggle to think of any 90s acts doing the same today.

Power metal frontmen are famously high pitched to begin with, often straying into counter-tenor ranges without using falsetto, but it's interesting to hear how far this lady can push the envelope starting in her natural feminine range (which I'd guess is on the low end of alto).

I watched a few songs from an absolutely fantastic tribute band called The Strictly Hip while at a festival somewhere in rural NY.
I have since been on a Tragically Hip kick.
I guess the point of this is just an excuse to mention that Gord Downie was one of the greatest frontmen of all time.
