The albumen in dragon eggs are very valuable for certain potions, and its not exactly kosher to steal eggs from dragons anymore considering the end of the dragonsong war, so they sell for a very good amount, even if they're not as big or as potent as proper dragon eggs can be.

Interestingly, the other great leap forward in the history of medicine we took was during WW1. We see this phenomenon in-game as well, where Ishgardian chirurgeons are held to be much more advanced in the treatment of physical injury due to the horrors of the Dragonsong War.

Watching a video about Dragonsong Ultimate and honestly, even as a non-raider, just *watching* it was some of the best content that's ever been in FFXIV. The story, the way the community came together hopping from stream to stream, it was so good and makes me have feels even now
