That's exactly what I'm hoping for, an official way to do exactly this. I'm never going to yell at someone for not putting alt text - bullying is only going to cause rifts and make people resentful. But I'd be happy to fill a "suggest alt text" form that they can choose to implement if they wish.
Alt-text as it stands now is individual labor and no one, absolutely no one, is entitled to someone’s individual labor.
I want alt-text to be community labor, which it is right now, just awkwardly implemented. Have people add it and the OP approve of it, like subs on YouTube.
