Microsoft Closes Its Physical Libraries for AI-Powered ‘Skilling Hubs’
In a sign of the times, Microsoft shuttered its physical libraries in Redmond, Hyderabad, Beijing and Dublin this week, ending a nostalgic era where employees attended author talks and checked out CEO-recommended books. The spaces are being converted into “Skilling Hubs” for exploring emerging technologies. The shift includes axing employee subscriptions to publications like The Information and Strategic News Service, which had served Microsoft for over 20 years.

Dublin Taxi drivers must be raking it in tonight. I must have hailed about twenty cabs with their lights on but alas they must be so busy to stop.

If Buffalo really are the #MayoGAA of the NFL, they've just exited a Championship with no Kerry, Dublin or Tyrone in it, was their big chance. Disappointed for them, would be a great story if they broke through. #BillsMafia #nfl

In 1992, at 15, I could have been modern day social media's view of a brave ally & run away from home.

In Dublin, I'd have died in 6 months. Probably 3.

Eric Swalwell (@ericswalwell.bsky.social) is polished—maybe too polished. At 45, he speaks pure "Consultant." He spent the forum passing a "Geography Test" ("I know Dublin... I know Manteca..."). We get it. You have a map. But this was an audience of technical experts, not a generic town hall.

New one for me; the "Bunch of keys" house & the Barley fields at the top of what would become O'Connell Street in Dublin. From Desmond Moore's Dublin's yesterdays 1994.

This Bay Area city was once hailed as the fastest-growing in California. Has it maxed out on development?
Dublin in between 2024 and 2025 ranked fifth in population growth percentage.

Just got a shout tonight from a pal to go see him this coming Wednesday in Dublin. Was deliberating as it's a school night, but your post has convinced me to go. Looking forward now. Let us know how you get on. 🎶 🙌

I was out and during the 2nd quarter I drove home. Listened to the FB game on the radio on my drive and there was an ad for the Sept 22nd Dublin football game during the break. Lol, it’s the playoffs. No more games overseas. That ad was 4 months old. Wonder if NFLN still has to pay for it?

Really enjoyed Dublin Gothic in the Abbey tonight.

So many interwoven stories and characters it's truly masterful that it's easy to follow.
