#Complexity🧪
🧪 Reviewing a year in biology reveals memory in brainless cells and a 540 million year carbon cycle. New insights map the complex neurons behind touch and distinguish the molecular complexity of brains from AI.
The Year in Biology | Quanta Magazine
Take a jaunt through a jungle of strange neurons underlying your sense of touch, hundreds of millions of years of animal evolution and the dense neural networks of brains and AIs.

Spring green-up is fragile. In a five-level grazing test, soil biota stability increased with intensity, but ecosystem multifunctionality peaked at low–medium grazing and then plunged. Diversity/complexity decoupled; stability showed a negative tie. Management takeaway: keep grazing moderate. 🌐🧪
