ICYMI: Liquid biopsy as a tool for predicts of severe COVID-19 and hospitalised community-acquired pneumonia
Liquid biopsy as a tool for predicts of severe COVID-19 and hospitalised community-acquired pneumonia
Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) is released into the circulation after apoptosis, necrosis, and active secretion from cells. In a healthy individual, cfDNA is present in small amounts, has a short half-life, and is predominantly derived from circulat...

Cleaning went well BUT there’s a mass under The Fluff’s tongue. Even if the biopsy comes back ok the mass will need to be removed. Updates next week.

“When my doctors told me that I had Hodgkin lymphoma, they shared the various molecular markers the biopsy revealed…‘It’s EBV positive,’ they told me. My cancerous cells bore the genetic fingerprints of Epstein-Barr virus.”
Opinion | A viral infection can have devastating effects. I experienced this firsthand.
The consequences of the anti-vaccine movement reach beyond today’s controversies.

Had a mole on my left foot scraped off and sent out for biopsy this morning and then saw my foot doctor for pain in my left arch, turns out I ruptured my plantar fascia pretty badly. 😭

2. I have 2, in high school someone told me that I have the most beautiful eyes and to use that when I flirt and I'll never forget it. The second one is I got a biopsy done and my doctor was like wow you have really thick skin and I was like hm. Interesting.

Question for dog people: 🐶

Anyone here gone through a liver biopsy with their young dog?

If so, how did it go? What was the healing like for your dog? Anything you’d be willing to share I would be so very greatful.

Took Sally to the vet today. After a lot of time with two vets, they came back to tell us has a cancer mass. It is in place here it is difficult to get a biopsy and surgery would be very hard. Vet gave us options but we asked what he would do.

"Nothing. Give her the best life while she is here."

Biopsy results: super irritated immune system. Combined with my blood tests results, not great for future me. Benign for now, the cells are also found in salivary gland tumors (Thx, already treated for stage III) and myeloid cells (Uncles w/ multiple myeloma, triple boo)

Gotta figure out mitigation
My immune system does NOT like the steroid cream the doctor prescribed. That's fun. 🫩

He wanted me to start 2 antihistamines as well. One at night and one in the morning. I'm doing the night one so far. Don't want to change too much at once. The steroid cream is new. I'll give that a few days yet
Good dermatologist visit yesterday. Moles checked out ok, and confirmed the constant back itching isn't just in my head or just perimenopause.

Actual diagnosis of skin dermatographism. Goes with my abundant allergies, asthma, eosinophilic esophagitis, and various other immune system calamities.

Jumping in shower. Anyone want to help me pick up the soap? 🙀 Have to be at Touchstone Imaging for four scans at 1:30. Head, jaw neck and arms. Will tell you later. It’ll determine whether I need a biopsy and another radioactive isotope injection stress test. OY!!! - 🙀

OK, Ryszard is entirely forgiven. He had to pick up my biopsy samples from the private clinic where I had the colonoscopy done and take them to the hospital so that the latter can do genetic examinations. >>

Huh. I hadn't mentioned what I had done yesterday, but that was it. Endoscopy. Going to be a soft food day...biopsy sites feel a little tender.

TAILGUT CYSTS:
-Rare retrorectal tumors
-Best evaluated with MRI, biopsy is rarely indicated
-Complete excision prevents recurrence and malignancy
-Routine coccygectomy is no longer recommended

We applied this method to a longitudinal cohort of very preterm infants of plasma per sample.
By tracking the molecular cargo of EVs from birth to term-equivalent age, we’ve captured the structured remodeling of the neonatal "liquid biopsy" during a critical developmental window. 2/3

I had surgery to remove a tumour yesterday. We’re waiting for the biopsy results today or Monday.

It’s very low risk. Unlikely to be cancer. Buuuuutttt…. Ya know. It’s all a bit surreal today.

One puzzle getting answered. More scans etc to come. Step by step working it all out.

Yes. The biopsy was clear and nothing to be worried about. There was an infection that caused the pain and it will take a while before that goes away.
