So far at #ALAAC2025 I have gone to a fantastic small group discussion on equitable libraries, met a fantastic librarian from Qatar, made friends with librarians from Illinois, Maryland, and West Virginia, and snagged 6 ARCs and 4 tote bags.

The zine section at #alaac2025 today totally inspired me... I'm thinking very seriously about doing a fun Meat Sweats-related zine for the book's publication next year. Not sure how I'd use it yet re: the book marketing fun, but my brain is kind of spent after today--Future Me will figure it out.

ALA Annual 2025 in Philadelphia wrapped up on Monday, June 30 – and it was a huge success! More than 14,000 people attended the conference, experiencing everything from membership events, to major speakers such as George Takei and Carla Hayden, and networking with fellow library workers. While there were hundreds of programs and events to choose from, here are some of the highlights from ALSC. Newbery-Caldecott-Legacy Banquet The NCL Banquet is one of ALSC’s biggest events at ALA Annual. This year, we were delighted to hear from Caldecott winner Rebecca Lee Kunz, Newbery winner Erin Entrada Kelly, and Children’s Literature Legacy Award winner Carole Boston Weatherford. As many of our conference bloggers and members have noted in the past, this is a must-attend event for anyone passionate about children’s literature. If you didn’t make it this year, be sure to put it on your list for next year! While a... The post ALA Annual 2025: Another Exciting Year! #alaac2025 appeared first on ALSC Blog. So I just had to call my #alaac2025 hotel for a copy of my bill, and the person I talked to (after she emailed me the bill) said "Oh! And thank you for all the books! The staff were so pleased to get those!" so if you stayed at the Hampton Inn and left books, I'm passing that along. Well done.

Why, yes, my #alaac2025 badge is swagged. I've found the spot where I'm signing at 1:30p (Baker & Taylor), said hello to my friends at Lanternfish Press, & have just traversed the liminal spaces of the Marriott to find the room for a panel on supporting women horror comic creators. Woot!

The BCALA panel was a great start to my #ALAAC2025. There's so much we can learn from the past. People have long had to fight for what they value, and we must continue to do so more than ever.

Tomorrow I begin my travels to #alaac2025 though I won’t get there until early Friday morning. I’m very excited! I haven’t been to ALA in 2 years, & this is my first time attending council in person & presenting at Annual, so it’ll be an adventure. Now my body just needs to hold it together!
