I always have the best time doing podcast episodes about gastrohorror, horror and mental health, and horror writing. Just finished recording with a writing podcast over my lunch hour--it was a blast!

Today's genealogy tidbit: a not all that distant cousin (I mean, a few generations removed, of course) married the son of Alvin York in 1946. Who is Alvin York? A pacifist who ended WWI as one of the US's most decorated soldiers, earning a Congressional Medal of Honor & the French Croix de Guerre.

Geez, it sounds so cold outside! The wind is howling past my windows, and all I want to do is wrap up in a blanket on my couch for the rest of the day. Alas.

As I often do, I'm making a wish into the ether: I want a publisher to hire me put together an anthology of fiber arts-related short horror. After serving a Editor for Bodies Full of Burning for Sliced Up Press, I know it would be 🔥.

@annetibbets.bsky.social Hey, I heard a little something re: CC--all new releases are officially dead in the water & staff appear to be expecting a closure notice. Authors Guild has stepped in. That's all I know.

If the govt shutdown ends & air travel gets back to normal by early December, there's a strong probability that we're heading out for a long weekend to hit a European Christmas market. I'm learning toward Amsterdam, almost entirely because the Light Festival will be happening. Plus, my favorite 1/

I'm all over this weekend for book events. Tomorrow I'll be in Haverford, PA, and on Saturday I'll be in Bucks County (Doylestown). See you at one or the other?

On Saturday I'll have copies of A Misfortune of Lake Monsters, Bodies Full of Burning, & The Trajectory of Dreams. Be afraid!

I really don't mind asking for blurbs at all, but same: I've been delighted to write blurbs for folks. Most recently for @amandaheadlee.bsky.social & Kate Anderson. ❤️
Asking for blurbs is always scary (to me!), so I'd like to just put out this: if I've ever interacted with your work positively or you think I might like it, I'm likely to be delighted to read your book for a blurb.

My post-election tradition is underway. Just visited my chiropractor & PT doc (who is a super horror fan-she's psyched about being gifted Eraserhead on VHS), now in the midst of a pedicure. I'm toasty and warm. As it should be.
