The pigeon has its back to the viewer with its head looking to the left. In shape and proportions it’s very similar to most other birds in the pigeon family, sort of plump and rounded. The colouring is multicoloured fading one into the other. The tail goes from a kind of dark blue black at the top of the feathers to light blue and then a yellowish green then to a kind of light mint green. The wings are a slightly darker tone of this mint green and it’s neck feathers transition back to light blue then a light mauve wrapping round the head and going back to light blue again. It has a startling pinkish purple eye with dark pupil and a grey blue beak. The leg feathers are various shades of green. The background of the illustration is made up of light and dark green inky splash marks.

The PhotoSystem II supercomplex in plants contains light-gathering antenna complexes (yellow). More antennas means better photosynthesis in low-light conditions (like the version shown with SIX antennas).

look, i figured it out at five years old, a thousand moments in one gesture - waving my hands excitedly for the kitchen in her dim brown light and my father, proud or perplexed at how his daughter could derive. look, i stand on tiptoe, tall enough to touch the threshold of what's possible, fingers fluttering down into a tender subdivision, again and again and again. and if i was mistaken? proselytising an inverted world through naive faith, the shoulders of my giants crumbling to sand, much like a mathematician's fundamentals? the destination reaches me before i blink, no process between cause and effect, teleology photobashed into a god with many faces, each unable to change a scowl to resemble a smile at the creation of this new world. i miss the seasons changing faster than i can feel the absence of their colour, the circulation of chlorophyll sublimating to a composite whiteness. a passerine sings in staccato, heart-thrum gunfire, flight reduced to unworthy musculature propelling particles from point a to point b, the unblinking eyes of ornithologists growing redder in incremental steps. my love embeds itself in the conscioussness of my beloved, a fractal's fringe solidified into an icepick fit to rend neural loops to numbers, numb and neutered. the wave of my hand crushes the boundary between eternity and the instantaneous, reaching forever into the dull chastity of a dejected dream, discretely dessicated, uniquely preaching to a choir, continuity's castrato - there's no room for infinity within a child's mind, not here in this windowless room.
