Hey folks. Here's one of the animations I did showing an O'Neill Colony - basically a hollowed out cylinder in space. This one is 35km long and 9km across and spins once per minute (if I remember) to provide 1g gravity.

Please repost! Spread the love!

#ArtAdventCalendar day 25!🥳

Wishing you all the absolute best day, whether you're celebrating or not!🥰

The Christmas Tree Cluster is 2,500 light years away. But know no matter the distance the Universe is celebrating YOU today, and everyday. 🥰

Sending you all loads of love!💜💫

For the final day, 24, of #ArtAdventCalendar, I present this illustration which I call Exploration of Amalthea. The latter is a very small moon of Jupiter in a very close orbit. Jupiter would fill half the sky seen from here!

Milky Way and Andromeda enjoy a dance of death. They're moving towards each other and will begin to merge in a few billion years.

Crikey!

So many ppl saying this looks like synspses or a neural net. What do you think?
#ArtAdventCalendar day 22.

The cosmic web. This is what the universe looks like on very large scales. The individual galaxies are very exaggerated in size. But this serves to illustrate the filamentery nature of the cosmos.

Holy crap, just look at this photo of Mars with one of its moons, Phobos, passing by on its merry way. Taken by Mars Express.

Seriously cool.

2 NEW epic images of Phobos over Mars just released by @esa.int Mars Express

This view is especially striking, with Phobos between the Tharsis volcanoes and Noctis Labyrinthus–Valles Marineris

I'd like to thank all my new followers. I'm nearly at 2000. Not bad for only a year on this platform. Keep em coming! And my very best wishes to all of you for whichever holiday, or not, you celebrate.

Boy, this got lots of attention. To the dozens mentioning the potential for damage by space junk, do you not consider that if we had the ability to build this, we'd have the ability to clean up the space junk way before?

It's SF now, but this could be be built if we had the will, tech and money
Day 21 of #ArtAdventCallendar.

Here's an animation of an orbital ring. It surrounds the Earth in a continuous loop and could serve as a platform to launch vehicles from low-Earth orbit.

Very early digital artwork from 2001 showing the planets as mushrooms! No idea where the idea for this came from.

The #AstronomyWeather for my local patch - results for November 2025:

Clear sky: 3 nights
Partly cloudy sky: 6 nights
Overcast sky: 21 nights

A very cloudy month. I largely missed the good aurora display we had but that's the way it goes sometimes.

Illustration of a cave on the Moon, with the Earth visible from the opening. Caves have been known there for some time. Some of them are where lava tubes have collapsed in places, revealing the interior. They would make good places for human habitats.

More #sciart featuring #Mars for #ArtAdventCalendar day 17.

Mars gets pulverised and rebuilt after a collision with another worlds. Not the most accurate simulation but it gets the point across.

Made in #Blender, commissioned by @davidskybrody.bsky.social for a documentary.
