The absurdity of Trump's trade policy:
For no reason whatsoever, Trump imposed a 39% "reciprocal tariff" on Switzerland.
Now, madman Trump has cut it to 15%, not knowing that free trade is better for us all.

The fun thing about all these specific numbers on foreign investment being promised in the US is that people can track them and see the reality of how things turned out.
I cannot emphasize enough that increasing foreign investment in the US and shrinking US trade deficits are in direct, irreconcilable tension w/ one another.

Switzerland has a deal with the US. A reduction to 15% tariffs (EU level - reduced from 39%) in return for 200 billions FDI… pharmaceuticals excluded from tariffs for the time being and with a maximum of 15% following section 232 investigations.

Switzerland/Liechtenstein - US Trade

Switzerland and Liechtenstein have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with the United States. On this basis, the United States will reduce the country-specific additional tariff to 15%.
