I really should use this more often. I tried to check Twitter and it just... literally did not work. Spaghetti code.

Finished Metro 2033 (currently on 2034!) and absolutely loved it. Might need to play the games now! Here’s some doodles of how I imagined some of the items in the book.

If you haven’t read Some Desperate Glory yet… GO READ IT. NOW!!!
Today is the US paperback release of SOME DESPERATE GLORY, a novel I wrote about the radicalisation of children, the hollowness of fascism, the mystical dream of AI-as-divinity, and how the cult can be transparent from the outside and yet invisible from the inside.

And it's now a Hugo nominee!

Given the way things are going I think we should all delete our social media accounts and go back to the original communication method: Quotations from Science Fiction and Fantasy novels, Darmok style.
Given the way things are going I think we should all delete our social media accounts and go back to the original communication method: improvised verses with absurdly detailed alliteration requirements to keep ‘em short & zingey. Ties broken by whoever can recite the law code for the most hours.

The first book I read in 2024 was Prophet Song, and the image of the tree with ribbons tied to its branches is still haunting me. Might have to do an illustration/alternate book cover. Totally understand why it won the Booker… would absolutely recommend it if you haven’t read it already.

Being totally honest, I love horror books and audio dramas but I absolutely cannot handle horror films. Don’t make me look at it!

Lately I've been thinking about starting a bookstagram... though I read so many ebooks I feel like I'd have to draw rather than film a lot of content, which takes time. Hmmm... is there even an audience for SF/literary content on there?

My brain is currently going insane trying to chew on Prophet by Macdonald and Blache... I truly believe this is going to be one of my books of all time.

I find I'm learning a lot working on a game as the only artist/humanities based person. I've been forced to really look at the practical aspects of how a game comes together, other than just... Coding Magic.
