IMs/DMs/texts are even worse! (where you can get them). My jaw has hit the floor reviewing discovery over how little of a filter people have in those contexts. A treasure trove of prejudice, insecurity, and salacious personal information.
Do enough litigation and you realize that most people are positively moronic about what they put in their emails.
of all the atrocities these emails likely allude to, it's still amazing that 'elites' write awful things *in emails*. so above the law, so convinced of their rectitude, so conditioned to impunity.

Motions for spoliation queueing up in 3, 2, 1...
DHS confirmed it has stopped automatically storing officials' text messages.

Instead, officials are supposed to take a screenshot, send that to their work email, download it onto their work computer and run a text-recognition program on it. Every time.

Why should you care that the president’s appointees at DOJ, including his former personal attorneys, could decide whether he gets a $230M payout directly to him? Because that money is coming directly from all of us, the U.S. taxpayers.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

A few months later she passes away unexpectedly.

The family gets a bill for $4140. By dying, she “broke her lease early”

A landlord gone rogue?

No. It was a billionaire property management company called Greystar.

WSJ just retracted its report that the shooter’s ammo was engraved with “transgender and anti-fascist ideology.”

It smelled like bullshit from the beginning, and every conservative who ran with it should be shamed into obscurity.

What's up with Justice Jackson? She started making her mark and speaking out early, and some of her dissents are so pointed Kagan and Sotomayor don’t even join them. The far right is out for her, and even Republican justices are getting snarky.

So what's up? Here’s my take 🧵

I’m so excited this is now official. David is a good friend, a great attorney, and an even better person. He is the person we need to stand up for the rights of everyday Coloradans right now.
I'm David Seligman.
I’m running for CO Attorney General.
This campaign is about reclaiming our power from the billionaires who have stolen it from us, from working families. We will fight. And we will win. Because we love our country the core promise it made to us: The law belongs to us.

This is a big deal—not just a process-based ruling, but a holding that Trump’s Alien Enemy Act proclamation is substantively invalid on its face.

This will obviously not be the last word, but it’s a really important step in the AEA litigation.

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

Unfortunately, this is part of their playbook. Force managers and others to go along with the farce and fire probationers and others or quit out of principle. Just another way to clear out as many feds as possible and wreak havoc on the agencies and their missions. 1/3
