Under Colorado law it's illegal for a government official, including a federal official, to "speculate or wager on the basis of . . . information" they have access to "in their official capacity," which "has not been made public." Colo. Rev. Stat. 18-8-402(b). /1
An anonymous Polymarket user made $400,000 on prediction markets for Venezuela on Saturday and may have had insider knowledge before the market resolved. @emmarjanssen.bsky.social reports on insider trading in prediction markets and fears over policy:

Monetizing Regime Change - The American Prospect
It is trivially easy for administration officials to use prediction markets to bet on the policies they authorize. We may have just seen it in Venezuela.

We can fight for a better and brighter future--one where the law works for ordinary people. And we can make it happen in 2026. But I need your help. Please donate today at the link in my bio. Happy New Year!

It's not that complicated. When ICE agents break the law, they should be prosecuted under the law. Grateful to be interviewed in this important piece by @felipedlh.bsky.social alongside Zephyr Teachout.

Amazon is breaking the law. We need the courage to take on monopolies like Amazon when they violate our rights. An AG can do that. #copolitics #amazon #union #monopoly

Telluride is refusing to pay ski patrollers about $30 per hour, but the daily lift ticket over the holiday week is about $330. Something is broken in ski country. It doesn't need to be this way. As attorney general, I'd fight back.

Right now, tens of thousands of delivery drivers are peeing in bottles to meet quotas for one of the most powerful corporations in the world, so others can get boxes of stuff that only seems cheap because the same corporation crushed competitors and algorithms manipulate its prices. /1

The appointments of Sam Levine and Julie Su—two visionary leaders—are terrific. They reflect a clear understanding that if government is going to deliver for working people, strong, fearless enforcement of the laws against corporate abuse has to be at the center of the project.
Welcome to A New Era, Samuel Levine!

Colorado’s river access is among the worst in the West. Special interests and billionaires have tried to turn it into a “third rail” of Colorado politics to protect their power, but I’m running for Attorney General to put the law on the side of everyday Coloradans.

We are suing one of the biggest meatpacking companies in the world. Your attorney general can protect you from the corporations that maintain dangerous working conditions for their own profit. #copolitics #meatpacking #jbs

Proud of our work standing up for some of the most vulnerable workers in the state--dealing with some of the most dangerous working conditions--against one of the most powerful meatpacking corporations in the world.

Nesly Pierre, Louine Jean-Louis and Carlos Saint Aubin — all Haitian refugees — were living in states across the country when they learned about the JBS opportunity through TikTok.

My youngest woke me up talking about how we still need to set up our menorahs. I opened my phone & learned of the terrifying antisemitic attack in Australia. No one should have to live in fear of hate or violence. Hanukkah is about finding light in the darkness. Let’s fight to create it.

The “affordability crisis” is also an accountability crisis—corporations and billionaires are stealing from us and getting away with it by bribing Trump and rigging a legal system that allows them to trample our rights with impunity. State AG’s are our best tools to fight back.

Turns out, AI is stealing from us. Expect your AG to stop that.

Trump knows he has no power to pardon Tina Peters. He’s just trying to signal that his people are above the law. They aren’t. Colorado law still applies—to ICE agents, to federal officials, to everyone. As AG, I’ll enforce it.

🚨 We are suing the Trump Admin. for 50,000 TSA agents who kept us safe during the shutdown without pay—some given the number for food banks in case they couldn’t put food on the table. The feds can’t decide to pay ICE agents & refuse to pay TSA agents.

I mean this: if your DAs and AGs aren’t talking about prosecuting this, get some who will if you possibly can. Either by shaming or voting.

Man repeatedly begs agents to look at his digital passport ID—they refuse.

Drove him 7 miles away before releasing him alone into Minnesota snow storm—told him to "walk home" in freezing weather advisory.
