If MSNBC were smart, they'd snap up Colbert before someone else does!
I’d say that @stephencolbert.bsky.social is (with the lone exception of @maddow.msnbc.com) the most brilliant, humane person I’ve encountered in broadcasting. His mind works faster than anyone else’s at a level of sophistication that is unmatchable. Genuinely a generational talent.

Ya, me too…
An I the only person alarmed that the U.S. military thinks a “show of presence” of heavily armed soldiers in a park in Los Angeles where kids play soccer is just fine and dandy?
Military documents confirm that the LA operation today was a “show of presence” intended to send a message to LA residents about the power of the federal government.

After staging with armed soldiers and Border Patrol agents on horse, they packed up and left after a short walk.

"We are all afraid...It's quite a statement. But we are in a time and a place where I certainly have not been here before. And I'll tell you, I am oftentimes very anxious myself about using my voice, because retaliation is real. And that's not right."
-- Sen. Lisa Murkowski, April 2025

Today:
Sen Lisa Murkowski (R-AK): "This has been an awful process—a frantic rush to meet an artificial deadline that has tested every limit of this institution. While we have worked to improve the present bill for Alaska, it is not good enough for the rest of our nation—and we all know it"

Dear @slotkin.senate.gov

There's a critical vote today and there is NO WAY to contact you directly. I've never been able to reach you or your staff to express my concern about the crypto bill. As a constituent and an expert in financial market regulation, I am greatly disappointed

Ukraine did something that the US and Europe failed to do for nearly half a century, it crippled Russia’s ability to launch nuclear weapons and long range strikes. At least one arm of Russia’s nuclear trident was destroyed. Ukraine did that, on its own, successfully. Have you said thank you yet?

Law professor Donald Ayer says, in his view, President Trump’s orders targeting law firms violate the constitutional rights to free speech, due process, and the right to counsel.

"Someone must stand up to this because it is a direct attack on the whole functioning of our judicial system," he says.

I may be the only lawyer targeted by Trump willing to speak on camera, but for me it wasn't a choice. All of us have an obligation to speak out against what Trump is doing. All of us have an obligation to fight for democracy. I am fortunate to be a lawyer and to have a platform -- and I will use it.
