“How many refugees have been granted asylum in the UK?”

Most people overestimate the number - by a lot. With far-right figures spreading misinformation, it’s hard for the public to know the truth.

Watch the video to see just how wide the gap is between perception and reality.

Another morning, another chance to be ashamed to be British. People are fleeing war and persecution, which we are often implicated in. Britain, smugly saying it's the best country in the world, takes their last valuables to pay for bureaucracy & sub standard accommodation. Government by anecdote
Govt minister Alex Norris is asked if the govt will take jewellery from people [fleeing war and persecution]. Norris says the govt won't be taking peoples wedding rings but they will seize assets.

Today, I want to focus on donation of treasure finds to museums.

Note, these figures include those who have sold their finds to museums at a reduced rate, as well as donated them for free - there's no way of finding out how many of each.

With speculation from Adnan Almohamad, whom I can attest to being an astute and well-informed Syrian archaeologist, that this may have been an inside job 😢
As cultural looting surges in Syria after a bloody civil war and a decades-long brutal dictatorship, thieves have broken into the National Museum of Damascus and walked away with six valuable Roman-era statues.

🧵 Important new study out in Cell Reports Medicine (Shahbaz et al. 2025):
👉 Long Covid with ME/CFS isn’t the same in women and men - biologically.
👉 And it’s not “fatigue.” It’s immune, hormonal, and neurological chaos.

Let’s break it down layperson style 👇
