Game master for Delta Green and Call of Cthulhu, writer when I have the energy, and artist maybe once a month
Just wrapped on @drgonzo123.bsky.social's amazing campaign, The Sense of the Sleight-of-Hand Man! Had an absolute blast every session, definitely one I'll run again in the future. Gonna miss the wonder and terror of the Dreamlands.

The father of modern rocketry and the founder of Scientology used to go into the desert and throw wild sex parties in order to summon demons.

Having a very #deltagreen Christmas this year! Got these two books this morning, and going to be spending my evening wrapping up the second chapter of God's Teeth!

let go of the urge to make your character in a TTRPG a special chosen one

make them a disposable goblin that sets things on fire. You'll care more about the goblin than the chosen one when they finally meet their inglorious end.

100% True
A compounding factor is most gamers started with D&D, and D&D is an extremely complex game once we start adding spells and class abilities. So they naturally assume that level of complexity is the norm and become hesitant to explore more TTRPGs.
Learning new ttrpgs is a skill.

But as pretentious as that sounds, that means it can be practiced. By reading more game books, you can nuture a kind of ttrpg reading comprehension.

The more you learn, the more you'll know.

And the more you know, the easier it becomes to learn the next game.

I'd suggest for RE 1-3 or 7 you go with Delta Green, gives you the deadly horror side with some nice tactical stuff to emulate the gunplay. Alternatively, if you want 4 or 8's quippy horror with two-fisted action, Pulp Cthulhu.

Oh this is real cool! Ran a Harlem Unbound campaign a few years back, gonna have to revisit it at some point. Maybe with Trail of Cthulhu this time around.
[Repost from the other site] Hep Cats! Ye asked and ye shall receive. Here’s an expanded #CallofCthulhu campaign using #HarlemUnbound (HU) and classic Coc scenarios. I Keepered this same campaign while playtesting 1st Ed and used HU to adjust the other scenarios as needed. #TTRPG

Two new tomes for the shelf, both from @pelgranepress.bsky.social! A couple excellent additions to feed my ever-hungering shelf.

I run Delta Green, which is basef on the idea of "the apocalypse is always a breath away, can you stave it off for a few days?" Have the stars come right and just one of the Great Old Ones returned? Have the Yithians engineered nuclear war to wipe us off the planet? Have we just done that ourselves?

I have never been quite so sure that a play group of mine is fucked. But the #DeltaGreen scenario I'm currently running? They are SO fucked.
It's not even the supernatural evil they're just gonna get arrested.

#ThePenguin was so fucking good and easily one of my favorite shows of all time. Absolutely love what they're doing with this universe. The Batman is my favorite superhero movie ever too. I do have to say though, fuck Oz.

I think one of the most fun things you can do when playing in a TTRPG campaign is to make memes for the group chat. If you do this, post one without context!

Had to cancel my session of this campaign this week. The horrors were too real.
After an insanely stressful week that included working in a house as a metal roof was installed (imagine being inside a drum in the hands of a hyperactive child), it's time to relax with a soothing game of ...checks notes... the darkest and most fucked up Delta Green campaign ever written.

Uh-oh
