“This is going to be a massive loss of life overall. Children are likely already dying, and will clearly be dying in large numbers.”

Horrific: One of the USAID programs Trump just terminated was set to deliver lifesaving treatment to hundreds of thousands of starving kids abroad. Much of it is now sitting in a Georgia warehouse.

Rubio's promise to preserve urgent assistance was a lie.

Worth a watch: As videos of angry voters at GOP town halls circulate, worth noting that Democrats are holding them too.

You can blame Garland if you want to — and I agree that he has faults — but reading through the Smith report on election interference makes one thing clear:

Voter apathy saved Trump from real accountability for the first time in his life.

I hope everyone who stayed home is happy.

The Hegseth hearing is doing one thing incredibly well: it’s establishing that when his leadership at DoD fails, it’ll be clear that GOP Senators knew, excused it, and they own it. Serious concerns about experience & judgment are literally being laughed off.

I imagine they’ll elect a temporary speaker to get the election certified, if it comes to that. Dems should object to the electors because Trump is an ineligible candidate.
NEW: If the House can't elect a speaker tomorrow, it could upend Congress' ability to certify the 2024 election results in ways that range from minor hiccups to — the longer the stalemate — unmitigated chaos.
