Alberta is a damned embarrassment and kids will die because of this.
I'm saddened to report that Alberta has passed a gender affirming care ban for under 16s, which would ban puberty blockers and HRT way past the age most experience puberty.

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.
They run them bc people react to them the most.
If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.
It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

In June 2024, Randall Johnston was inappropriately evicted from his support home while undergoing distress caused by a mental health condition. He was not given his prescribed medication upon eviction. Tragically, Randall passed away before he could access his medication.

Saying "this is a distraction" in response to anti-trans attacks without actually pushing back on the attacks is exactly what Kamala Harris did in response to anti-trans attacks during her campaign. That sure worked out well! 🙃

Treat the trolls that are popping up here like you would invasive spotted lanternflies -- stomp on them (with a quick block or report) and then just keep walking, with a little spring in your step because you're helping protect our ecosystem
