Today is Trans Day of Remembrance The day started in the US in 1999 by trans advocate Gwendolyn Ann Smith. The initial vigil honoured a transgender woman who was killed, Rita Hester, and all trans people lost to violence since her death. 27 years on, the day is honoured around the world with vigils and community solidarity. Solidarity action for allies* Learn - get the facts and fight misinformation. Upskill - find ways to make your workplace or organisation more trans affirming. Celebrate - join community days of visibility. Amplify - centre trans and gender diverse voices. Advocate - fight discrimination when you can. Donate - give to projects that support community. Trans Day of Resistance As we mourn our trans siblings who have lost their lives we must also continue to fight for those still living. For many in the trans and gender diverse community, Trans Day of Resistance refers to rallies and other actions to protest anti-transgender violence, policy, and oppression. Many of these actions take place across unceded Australia on 22 November, and also acknowledge intersecting issues within marginalised communities. The sex worker rights movement includes all sex workers. Our community and our allies must resist TERF (trans exclusionary feminism) and SWERF (sex worker exclusionary feminism) rhetoric.

The video shown at the beginning of this video could be extremely distressing to some viewers, because it shows a grown-ass man terrorising a screaming and crying little girl.

But, the message of this video is sorely needed. Children. Are. People. And don't deserve to be terrorised for any reason.

My TikTok FYP vid had 5.8M likes. It's of a man terrorizing, bullying a distressed child and filming it for content and then congratulating himself for it. You wonder why we have adults who dehumanize others? They live it for 18 yrs. You bully kids and wonder why they grow up to be bullies.
This video got 5 million likes. Shame on every single person who liked it.

I don't care how terrible a trans person is, or how terrible you *perceive* that person to be--misgendering them is never acceptable. I will never not believe it's anything but transphobia that you are gleefully doing when I don't see you referring to certain world leaders by different pronouns.

before Irennan, I was really more focused on BG3 origin ships. It was always Bloodweave, Shadowheart/Lae'zel, and Wyll/Karlach.

But lately I've really found myself shifting to Shadowheart/Karlach and Wyll/Lae'zel. Something about that feels... yeah. Y'know? YEAH.

LLMs are predictive word generators that still can't find how many 'r's are in a variety of words and phrases.

I'm so sick of companies throwing LLMs at something to see if it "works" and only finding later how it doesn't. It's irresponsible. Sadly, examples like this don't stop the push to do so.

I do understand: you want permission. There’s a machine in the corner wrapped in human skin that makes things out of shit and blood to look like whatever you want (as long as you don’t look too closely). You gave one to your teacher and they didn’t notice. Your boss told you to use it after they laid off half the team and it was fine. You fed one to your kids and they liked it. You want to know you can use it sometimes without me thinking less of you. You don’t need me to believe it’s useful, you just want me to be polite about it. But I am a hater, and I will not be polite. The machine is disgusting and we should break it. The people who build it are vapid shit-eating cannibals glorifying ignorance. I strongly feel that this is an insult to life itself.

Even when someone is making a point I agree with, my misogyny hackles go straight up every time I hear "the [insert interest here] girlies."

I actually really kind of hate our tendency as a society to call adults "girls" to begin with, but "the ___ girlies" feels especially insidious.
