Baby sci commer who's really on one about dying and death care. Oh I'm also a radiation therapist and a few other things.
HOLD. UP.
I didn't think it could be done, but it finally happened:

I used all the ink in a pen before I got bored and abandoned it for something better.

The WHOLE PEN!

I have two cats and a dog.

Guess which one walked into the room with a freshly dead mouse.

Death quote of the day:
"My God, I just remembered that we die." - Clarice Lispector

Found that at the beginning of the book Martyr! By Kaveh Akbar, highly recommend

Peak ADHD: in December I preordered Alex Partridge's book on ADHD. Had to preorder because I NEED IT IMMEDIATELY and WHY DO I HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE MONTH?!

I forgot I had it till just now. Two months later. Not a letter has been read. Fully erased from my brain.

I should probably read that now.

Nothing delights me more than science/tech speak for things.

Similar to the SpaceX Starship, I too occasionally experience "rapid unscheduled disassembly."

Question for @imperi.bsky.social or any death/grief/psych/sociology pro:

One benefit always noted for mourners with natural burial is the ability to participate. Is there research being done on the potential grief/emotional effects of natural vs conventional funerals?

So cool! Aspirin for mets, mRNA vaccines for pancreatic cancer - awesome stuff coming for cancer
Aspirin may enhance the immune response against cancer metastasis in mice, according to research published in Nature. The authors suggest that the findings could aid the development of effective anti-metastatic immunotherapies. https://go.nature.com/3F3GWOB 🧪

Yesterday while checking in for my psych appointment there was a family of 4 - mom, dad, 2 daughters about 7 and 10. I overheard:
10: what are we doing again?
Mom: we're here to talk about how lately you [issue]
Dad in a low, serious tone: but remember, we DON'T. Talk. About. BRUNO.

So many scientific studies sound ridiculous and people make fun of them until the products of the chain reaction from those studies becomes a staple in society that those same people either don't know about or just assume popped magically into existence.

Crochet and cadavers - great name for a podcast. Dibs!
Also works for a Miss Marple knockoff series.
And it works for this afternoon, working a project and learning death care practices 🖤

After spending the last year pitching and attempting to put together a proposal to get a literary agent, I'm over it. Scrapping it all. Going self publishing babyyyy!

Time to get to work.

Seriously, stop scrolling....

If you have a deceased loved one, what food makes you think of them every time and why?

I have a catfish now due to circumstances. Certainly won't keep him long before releasing but I'm enjoying him.

Simply based on facial expressions, I'm starting to relate to this fish on an existential level.

"Death has eyes and ears and that smell - that sweet, sweet smell. It is, in all its shifting ways, utterly magnificent. And the best part about death is that it's all of ours to share."

You heard it here likely not first: r.e.m. beauty's Wicked Elphaba black lip balm is THE BEST.

Feels, wears better than Clinique Black Honey

Today's #deathpositive quote:
"Dancing through life... If only because dust is what we'll come to." -Wicked

Yes I went there. I'm obsessed. No shame. PLUS they have a line about going to have a good time and enjoy life because someday we'll all be dust? That line has stuck with me for years. 🖤

A friend of mine is spending NYE listening to the B side of all the albums she got for Christmas.

There's something poignant here but I'm starting early on my resolution of not over explaining and also there's gin.

Don't want to brag or anything but I've had follows from Mel Gibson and Bruce Willis so far.

Crushing it.

For real though how many of my few followers are actually real people?
