Dark energy and the universe
It was a profound shift to our understanding of the cosmos when 25 years ago astronomers identified that the universe is not only expanding but accelerating away from us. A new force was needed to acc...

Very sad that I felt I had no choice but to resign from The Infinite Monkey Cage - a victory for the transphobes and other bigots - I did it because so much of the media has chosen to believe the kind and empathetic people are a fiction - they are real and so often unrepresented.

Not that strange. The EU is based on an anti-authoritarian consensus (rule of law, shared sovereignty). Our economic model is one of Rhineland welfare statism and ordo-liberal economics. And Europe’s cultural foundation is liberal multiculturalism. We’re in everything the antithesis of MAGA fascism.

Scientific evidence is clear: prostate cancer screening does more harm than good.
BBC: interviews layman versus expert; BBC journalist is critical of the evidence. Overall impression given by BBC: evidence must be wrong.

This is their job.

They are protesting for the rights of other human beings. Something nether Donald Trump nor Puppy Killa Noem would ever understand.

Glad that someone has finally taken responsibility for the appalling assault on democracy that was the Jan. 6 insurrection.

Slightly confused that it's the Director-General of the BBC, but what do I know?

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

And if we think it’s bad now, imagine what it could look like, say, two months from a U.K. general election?

Could imagine huge sums in US far right cash flooding in, much of what would only be declared after the election (our electoral rules really are a jape)
Be clear, the American far right are coming for British democracy.

Almost nobody in the Cons Party or beyond it had noticed that the Shadow Home Secretary with two other frontbenchers and 5 backbenchers tabled a bill in May to deport 3 million people - stripping almost every pensioner, parent or nurse who did not take out citizenship of their right to live here

Kash Patel is insincere or bewilderingly unaware of himself or what he professes to love, if he is indeed an #LFC supporter. Shankly said it best.

YNWA doesn’t apply to those who actively divide people, create discord, and serve the interests of the powerful and wealthy. Patel needs to get a clue.

Let’s be honest. Carswell is not alone. You don’t tweet unless you know it’s a popular belief. There are many in public roles, in pubs and at dinner tables who believe this. This is a persecution of Muslims in the UK and anyone with any sense of humanity, who cares about Britain must call this out .
Douglas Carswell has skirted the line and now he's crossed it.

This is disgusting racism from a former MP who now demonstrates who and what he is.

I think what is most revealing to me is that these powerful individuals felt quite confident in memorializing all these accounts of sex crimes in print, with illustrations. And what is most sickening is that indeed they were largely right to be confident in their actions receiving no accountability.
I wrote about what I think is a genuinely revealing document of elite depravity and impunity. It is shocking and sickening. But it's also a crucial moment. We're about to see what happens when conspiracy theorists actually get what they asked for but it turns out not to be what they want.
You Really Need to See Epstein’s Birthday Book for Yourself
This time, the conspiracy theorists were right.
