Time to address disability inclusion for university staff
There is significant work to do to promote inclusion for disabled staff in higher education. Susan Wilbraham, Carol Evans, and Jackie Carter see sharing practice and gathering data as the next step.

This is harrowing, but it needs to be heard. No matter what the rights and wrongs are of what is driving events in Gaza, what my good friend and colleague @khawlabadwan.bsky.social describes in her poems is the reality of the outcome. #KeepTellingOfGaza
And thank you so much to you all for producing this video, for sharing the words, for adding this moving multiplicity of voices, and for bringing words on the screen to be lived, passed on, witnessed, uttered in care, and breathed out in pain and solidarity.

As the US elections have proved, our politics is distorted by billionaire press owners and big tech broligarchy. People live in information bubbles, starved of truth.

This is a great way to visualise the impact of there being a bit more energy in our climate system, and why there is no longer a normal weather envelope as a consequence of climate change
Time for the @bsky.app community to see one of my favorite visualizations of climate change...

They are not the solution, but if robust, validated carbon markets can bring levels of private investment into climate mitigation, I think we have to use them. Public funds (certainly in UK) are not enough….
#COP29 action alert: Today, we call out #FalseClimateSolutions.

Carbon markets won't support the real #ClimateAction or climate-vulnerable communities, which are being increasingly swept aside in favor of these business-driven schemes.

If we're going to start hearing claims that soil carbon sequestration on working agricultural lands can offset all of agriculture's GHG emissions (no way) or bring CO₂ down to pre-industrial levels (nooooooo way), I'm leaving this explainer here to show why that's impossible. Long but worth reading.

Some beautiful, but haunting words from my colleague @khawlabadwan.bsky.social about the catastrophe of what is happening to #Gaza #KeepTellingOfGaza
To break down
As you speak up.
To close your eyes
In pain,
In shock,
In disbelief
As you open eyes
To see the truth.
To find language
As words become
Paralysed.
To feel,
To stay alive,
To keep telling
Of Gaza.
