NEW: Vanuatu has introduced a draft UN 🇺🇳 General Assembly resolution that builds on the International Court of Justice’s landmark ruling on States' legal duties in the context of climate change.

The resolution aims at turning legal clarity into collective #ClimateAction.
Almost 2 years ago, @ec.europa.eu backed the Antwerp Declaration to revive EU industry.
The result? Environmental deregulation, called “simplification.”
Winners: Fossil fuel & petrochemical industries.
Losers: People & the planet.

It’s a necessary procedural step after months of paralysis — but it doesn’t fix what’s broken.

The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Panel on Chemicals, Waste, and Pollution ended in paralysis.

Obstruction and geopolitics blocked agreement on basic rules needed for the Panel to function.
