Rebecca was one of the founders of Interplay and programmed & designed for some of the most influential games of my youth, notably Bard's Tale I & III and Wasteland. She will be missed.
My trailblazing game industry bad-ass friend Rebecca Heineman has passed away.

Fuck cancer.

Friends, let’s not forget her: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rebecca...

Ms Z should just be offered the new Inspector General of Police gig. They may not want it, but they deserve first go.

Just seems a little short while ago that various government politicians, and people acting as their media surrogates, were outraged and scandalized by, and poured scorn on, comments from younger women politicians for suggesting many people don't trust cops.

Highest levels of the force - filth.

'It’s probably hard for you to understand how reassuring they were... When I wanted to know whether or not it was safe to take off, I didn’t want to know that it might not be safe. I just wanted to be reassured that it was. So instead of checking it myself, I sent out one of the Electric Monks.'

So the most interesting thing about the INZ AGM for me is that I was sitting / talking about it in EIGHT different spaces, chatting back and forth and passing information and gossip and jokes around. That kind of cross-community communication and momentum-building is a hell of a thing to see in play

Incredibly heartening seeing everyone on here with InternetNZ membership live-threading the AGM

People are really showing up for these fights, and even if we *lose* some of these, the experience, community and resilience gained from this sort of activism is invaluable

I'm officially a nominee for the upcoming InternetNZ board elections.

If you were a member before the start of April you'll be able to cast your vote (for me?) from July 14.

This is unlikely to be the last you hear from me about this 😁
