Hi! I'm H.S. Kallinger, a disabled, queer author of queer SFF. I have a complete, published psych/urban fantasy series available at multiple online retailers, & I'm working on a new one. My works are character-driven, blend real science with fantasy, and I like to kick tropes in the face.
To everyone who celebrates!
Happy partially muscled skeleton screaming by the perimeter fence day to all who celebrate. A solemn 30 second screaming before vanishing will take place at 11am.

Heh. Heheheheh. Heh.

Asking for help? Like... putting myself out there and hoping I don't just get cold wind blowing cricket chirps at me in response?

I'm totally normal about asking for help. Really. I have done it. It's happened!

Tired of lying awake at 3 am raging about how shit everything is? Like to have something to read instead?

How about a bundle of great fiction about authoritarian regimes and heroes who stick knives in evil systems?

CN: kink talk

Gabby is a kinkster right out the gate, which is the opposite of Zack, who started his series as vanilla as a milkshake. Zack mostly found interest through Sarah. Gabby's gf Vicky brought it to him originally, but he was immediately interested.
Gabby's got a praise kink, is an exhibitionist, a masochist, and both a service dom and sub.

He talks about how he's into the whole BDSM acronym, and he practices RACK.

I'm probably forgetting something, but I think that's his list?

Gabby was a dhampir kid with AuDHD. It wasn't so much that he was badly behaved as he just had no impulse control, massive amounts of energy, little to no social awareness, more strength & speed than a human kid, questions about everything, clinginess, & high sensory seeking needs.

Our roof needs emergency repairs, before two rafters collapse. #🍋🏠

We had an inspector by, and two of the rafters are split, there's dry rot, and some of the decking (plywood) is damaged. The shingles are also worn out and shifted, and the flashing is letting water in.

Help 🙃

Took 9 out on my back. The colors had shifted so the whole bottom of the sky was green-green, and I took this picture bent over with them just sitting on my back like a cat 🤣

A queer audience looking for hope, character conversations, adventure, healing, and utter disregard for both gender and genre boxes.

I don't think I can predict who needs it the most. I tend to be surprised by the answer.
What kind of audience do you hope to reach with your work? Who do you think needs it the most? #WritingPrompt

Husband finally fixed the 3D printer*, found some filament that isn't borked**, and printed a thing for me. Anyone recognize what's under the support trees?

My first published MC was Zack. His name was taken from Xak, short for Xakana. AKA, I gave him my name because it's one of my favorite names, & I WAS him in the dream (I was still an egg at the time and figured I couldn't ACTUALLY have it, so I would still get to use it that way).
What's your MC's name and why did you pick it for them? (Feel free to list other characters too!)

My first published series started as a transcription of the dream I had AS my MC.

I dream of my characters occasionally. Sometimes I dream of writing, and sometimes I dream of them specifically. Not as often as I'd like, though.
Have you ever dreamt of your OC? 💤 💭

One of my favorites is 'The Deep' by Rivers Solomon.

I love ocean life and mermaids, and really enjoyed the unique take, how it tackled history, trauma, generational trauma, and healing both of self and community.

'The Girl from the Sea' by Lee Knox Ostertag (credited as Molly Knox Ostertag) was a sapphic fantasy graphic novel that I got for my third born when they were 10 or 11. They read it repeatedly (I read it, too, and it was good!) and bemoaned it being a standalone.
