Paying for the roof repairs meant missing the December mortgage payment. I was hoping to make it up at work or with commissions by today, but no luck. (I missed most of the last 2 weeks due to undeclared barley in my "safe" oatmeal.)

Artists! The US Copyright Office has changed the rules, starting in Feb. we can register up to 20 published 2D works of art in a single application, making it way more affordable!
Important as registration is needed to fight theft in court or the CCB.

The final rule also announces a new online registration application for this group option. The proposed rule would have allowed applicants to register up to ten works published within a thirty-day period. Based on commenters’ input and to facilitate broader participation in the registration system, the final rule permits applicants to register up to twenty works, where all works within the group were first published within the same calendar year. The final rule takes effect on February 17, 2026, to coincide with the expected completion of related system development and educational resources. The Office will issue an additional public announcement when this option is available to applicants. For more information, please visit the Copyright Office website."

Conventions, if you use AI do not be surprised if creators turn down your invitations to be guests or even to be on panels.

Do not use tools trained on stolen work from creators and then tell them you want to honor or uplift them - that’s not what you’re doing. You’re stealing and being lazy.

New reporting says Don Jr. directly facilitated the pardon of a crypto whale who had promoted the Trump's family crypto. Jr. brought the pardon lawyer to the White House, and introduced him directly to his Dad. Pardon occurred right after. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/pardon-the...

Lmao. I had a feeling it was tied into reward network function.

At some point they're going to connect sugar processing disorders, adhd, addiction, and stimulant function together. And see just how much we've been self medicating to appease our brains because we can't get reward happiness.

Ryan, an anthro raccoon, has himself completely wrapped up in Christmas wrapping, to the point where he can't move very much. His muzzle, ears, tail, and his toes are sticking out of the red-striped wrapping. He shouts to another room, "Heeey, Nes? I screwed up trying to wrap a gift! Can you help me out? And... not look at the thing beside me?" Beside him is a box set of kangaroo ear warmers, intended for Nes.
