I just don't see a downside to getting people in the streets with their neighbors, vastly more so for people in red/purple geographies, or low-population geographies of any size, if what you want to build is a meaningful anti-fascist/pro-democracy populace. This thread is already too long! Alas.

Lotta folk talking about what or should or should not be done. All of it needs doing. Feed people. Provide care. Create space for people to be. Live. Care. Fuxk shit up. House people. It's not mono it has to be surround sound. And even laserdisc had that.

I can't speak to No Kings impact, but I can say that I went to a pro-repro rights (not even abortion rights) protest in Dallas in 2011. It was the first time I ever marched in public for a thing I believed in, and it helped me articulate my values and connect to others in a place where I felt alone.
Can I ask, what did the No Kings protest actually accomplish? I mean, in real terms, what have these protests materially changed? I can't help but feel these one off protests are merely a heatsink for energy and anger rather than a path for meaningful change and disruption of the system.

anyway my solution for man control is we make the army much bigger but we use most of it as basically a dumb young dude daycare where they get to shoot guns and march around and stuff but we actually don’t send them to war to come back traumatized they just do useful work until they grow up
