One reason why elite schools (Columbia, Brown, Cornell) caving to Trump’s illegal impoundment and extortion is so galling — a betrayal, really — is that they would have won had they fought. By giving up, they guaranteed every other school will have to fight harder.

Our beloved Alice Wong has joined the ancestors. It was one of the great honors of my life to call Alice my friend, co-author & co-conspirator. She was a true genius, a force of nature the likes of which the world has never seen before. I love you, Alice, and am equal parts grateful and devastated

This is a conversation between a tanning-salon nut who became HHS Secretary, and a shape-shifter who grovels to a man he once called "America's Hitler."

30 years ago, an HHS/VP convo would have meant Donna Shalala and Al Gore.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

I know the difference between myself and someone who hypes AI. In a meeting about AI and academic experience on my campus, a colleague said we could use Zoom’s AI companion to do notes because he can be present in the convo.

My thought: Taking notes is being present?
