You really have to be a special kind of evil to rip $1 BILLION from school mental health and anti-violence programs—because they dared to be inclusive. Trump isn’t saving kids—he’s sacrificing them to push his hateful agenda.
Trump administration to cancel $1bn in Biden-era school mental health grants
Funding will not be continued next year after bill signed in 2022 helped schools hire more mental health workers

You guys! I just found out about 5calls.org - it makes calling easy - connects you directly with your reps, supplies the issues and scripts to cover what we are facing in the moment. There’s an app too (- photo in comments) which makes it even easier to use.
I LOVE THIS!

Watched "Buy Now" last night. It's fascinating. And more than anything of course, makes me want to do a 'buy nothing' year, as well as hold free swap meets and barter time and services from community.
Did you watch it? What did you think?

Trump’s strategy - pardon the people who will be his militia and do what he wants… (- see substack below)
So Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes is at Trump’s speech in Las Vegas and has VIP seating

Trump's Strategy: Forging Loyalty With Extremists Through Pardons
The day Trump issued mass pardons for January 6 insurrectionists marked one of the most outrageous yet predictable betrayals of America.

To recap,
Yes, many harmful orders came from the highest office,

BUT helpers arose:
The Reverend from her pulpit who called for love & mercy.
The staff who kept officers from raiding their school.
The lawyers who sprung into action to protect vulnerable communities.

We are all the helpers now.

BRAVO!! Celebrate resistance!
The 1st 4 days:

👏States sue Trump over birthright citizenship

👏California refuses to allow immigration enforcement in schools

👏Danish politicians literally tell Trump to “f**k off”

And tonight:

👏Mexico refuses to allow deportation flight to land

Trump is a weak bully. Resistance is everything.
Mexico refuses to accept a U.S. deportation flight
The Mexican government has criticized President Donald Trump's unilateral immigration actions, and the landing would have required Mexico's assistance.

FUCk. Target just rolled back DEI. I really don't understand this. More than any other place, I've seen our local Target hiring people with disabilities and giving everyone a chance. The manager has long, spirited talks with my daughter (who has Down syndrome) and... sigh

So, just to be clear: rescinding a 60-year-old executive order prohibiting discrimination in federal hiring and federal contracting is not ant-DEI, it is anti-civil rights. Efforts to subvert the 1964 Civil Rights Act are likely next,if you read what conservatives have said. And that's the beginning.

I feel this. And I need to NOT be with either major party. I'm just done with them both. Is there a socialist party?
This is your mission. We take our power back now at the local and state level. Stop waiting for a national hero. It’s you. Get to work.

. . . cast their insurrection to conserve racist slavery as a War of Northern Aggression, banned books and vilified voices documenting the truth, built Jim Crow on lies, laws, and lynchings, and hoisted back up their Confederate flags. History can be a blueprint. 2/2

This TikTok circus… banned, not banned. Trump saves the day. This whole thing is so stupid. Our info is already collected, used and sold by American companies. I highly doubt Chinese would be worse. This circus feels like a publicity stunt for Trump, designed by the democrats

In the face all the feelings I feel about the incoming administration (- pure rage at the Democrat party, a sense of impending doom and anxiety over my garden, broken big toe and the world at large) I have to love a moment that just stops me in my tracks. A drink named Unwell.
