I tend to be higher energy on new moons over full, but today's something else. Might be that it's a black moon, maybe the proximity to solstice, maybe it's the end of the year or the looming cold expanse of January...whatever it is, today I can only rest. Following tons of garden/woodland folk and seeing several pics of lichen this AM reminds me of when I worked at a doc office and a patient (loudly) insisted that corn and lichen cause herpes and I am newly grateful for a job in operations where I deal with problems no people.

I'm always impressed by socks. I've been working on a one row repeat blanket for...forever and keep ripping it out. Christmas marked a full year and I'm back to about 5 inches long. Go me.

This kills me. I was like 12-13 when I read It, The Stand and FLOWERS IN THE ATTIC. Pretty sure the only thing that came from reading any-and-everything was higher SAT scores. Let my boy read everything he wanted and standard tests said English skills were career ready in 5th grade. OH, THE HUMANITY

Yes, so much grief, but the rage can flow through like nobody's business, too. Every new thing I can't do triggers rage, then the grief, then a pivot to try a new door. It's like my soul is a caged animal banging against the bars of this body. I'm actively trying to reinvent myself this year.

Eye doc today, so excited for new specs! Just need to decide if I want to stick with the 'professional' look with these #$%@ing progressive lenses, or go all in on the crone and get 3 pairs to wear around my neck on eyeglass chains and switch 'em up like a mad librarian. Decisions, decisions.
