If artificial strawberry flavour bears no resemblance

and
artificial chicken flavour doesn't even come
from chicken (it's vegan!)
and
artificial pine smell doesn't smell
like any coniferous tree
it's fair to think

isn't at all
like intelligence

also, good riddance.

the other night I read an essay by Ivan Illich on the commodification of language and the learning of language

and the night after that i started Terraglossia by Debra Dank and I can't unsee how colonialism and imperialism and capitalism have been damaging the very roots of how humans narrate life.

I hear a lot of very well-meaning people enthuse about rewilding the city and yeah great but not one of them is including critters like emus, wombats, dingos, bandicoots, native mice, native rats, biting insects, masked lapwings and other uncuddly creatures in their speaking/picturing.

Not only will we continue to demand the release of the unredacted (other than that of the victims), Epstein files, we demand the victims be heard!
We don't care what a convicted sex trafficker has to say. The only voices that matter are those of the victims.
