If writing is so easy why do people argue that they can’t do it without the pablumatic verbiage extruder

And if it’s so difficult then why do people think it’s not labour and writers are not workers

I really wish we'd stop calling them climate "skeptics" or "vaccine skeptics", if you jump off a cliff we don't call you a "gravity skeptic"

I was having fun conjuring a sci-fi conspiracy story about world domination through subliminal messages in music and then realized it was just Josie and the Pussycats

Pickup our music to on BC to be the biggest help in contributing to our road funds!

AI is like this giant fucking boat we all were forced to get on, and it's a boat they stole, and also it barely floats, and also it's not going anywhere good. So it either takes us somewhere we hate, or it fucking sinks, so either way, fuck AI.
So if AI succeeds loads of people lose their jobs as they're replaced by AI, and if AI fails, loads of people lose their jobs as the economy crashes?
It’s amazing how this story has gone from 0 to 60 in UK press. There’s been no mainstream coverage to date but this morning the story is leading BBC News site & bulletins.

Running fitness is such a weird beast. I weigh less and can squat more than I could six months ago, but a long hill that was easy then required several walking breaks this morning.

That feeling when you have to get back in the shower after drying off because you were so distracted thinking about Jeremy Bearimy that you forgot to wash.

I realized I’ve been slowing myself down, worrying that the pseudo-science part of my story didn’t make enough sense to be believable. Then the advice of various craft books bubbled up and reminded me that the relationships, growth, try/fail cycles, etc, matter so much more. 🧵

Pro tip: if there’s buttons next to the screen, the second one down from the top right corner will probably mute the audio.

My kid was button mashing one day and found it by accident, and it’s worked on every screen I’ve found since.

I was enjoying the new Igorrr at the gym, when, during a quiet part, the gym music bled through my headphones with Rhianna’s Don’t Stop The Music.

Now I keep trying to play Igorrr in my head but instead I’m hearing Don’t Stop The Music by the Treblemakers.

I can’t decide if I’m annoyed or confused

Day two, now at 3,351/50,000.

Solid start, and today I got to write “The End”, because when this story landed in my head over a year ago, the final scene hit first, so that’s what I started with.

I wrote 1677 words today. Feels good. Elder kiddo is aiming for 5000 by month end. Youngest wanted in on the action, chose 20 words as a target. Then wrote the numbers 1-20 on a piece of paper and filled in the first 20 words she thought of. Wasn’t interested in making a story out of it. Perfection.

Kiddo challenged me to try nanowrimo again. I accepted, and decided to use an idea I had a year ago for a mid grade sci-fi. My swim this morning flew by, as I was lost to the world building going on in my head. This is going to be fun.

Fun part of Decorative Facial Hair season is picking fragrances. This year I went with Tea Tree for beard wash & conditioner, and a set each of Spiced Vanilla and Coffee & Whiskey for oil & balm,

And lemme tell ya, I smell lovely.
