Market ideology teaches us to blame ourselves for failing in a rigged economy.

Perversely, doing so also makes us feel more in control.

Only a long-term plan that balances nature restoration with farming, timber, carbon capture and energy will stand the test of time.

Add your name today to tell the government it’s time to put nature in the frame👇

Demand a wilder future for England's land
Let the UK Government know we need a bigger, bolder and wilder plan to restore nature. Right now, the UK Government is working on its first-ever vision for how we use land in England – the Land Use Framework. And they want to hear from you. This is your chance to have a say on the future of rewilding in England. Because there's a problem. The UK Government’s current proposals only consider change across 12.7% of land. That leaves a huge chunk of land out of discussions – almost 90% of England – which could be vital for nature restoration.

Glad to see the UK making this positive step towards nature restoration. Working with nature, reintroducing keystone species such as the beaver is a net positive. Beavers help with flood mitigation, improved water quality, habitat creation and climate mitigation. And bonus points for being cute!

1. A few years ago, people like me were widely attacked in the media for “declinism”. How could we fail to see that we were heading into a capitalist utopia, in which everything would keep getting better?
This is a thread about what we could see that our critics could not. 🧵

The PM has started 2025 with plans to revitalise the NHS, but lacking is any mention of climate change.

Extreme weather and public health are deeply linked, so climate considerations are crucial for an NHS that can sustainably prevent poor health.

Well, actually not in this case.

The basis of international climate governance is (or was) the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities and respective capabilities."

This is a principle based on "equity," not "equality."

Important context here:

● over half of farms are less than 49 acres (20 hectares)

● "a big farm" is 217 acres.

Now let's see who's angry:

● Clarkson farm is 1,000 acres
● Lloyd Webber farms 4,000 acres
● Viscount Rothermere (Mail owner) 4,700 acres
● Dyson owns 36,000 acres
A message from a REAL farmer who hasn’t been brainwashed by the Tories, wealthy landowners and the right wing media👇🏽

How privatisation works (and Thames Water is just the latest example).
1. A government takes a national asset built up with taxpayers' money and the work of public servants over many years, and hands it, for a fraction of its value, to a private company.
2. In doing so, it creates a monopoly.
