My campaign office unfortunately has to hire security as an individual is regularly vandalizing it.

This is in addition to a Republican calling our office the “Home of Hezbollah”.

Security is an unplanned expense but we want this to be a safe place. If you’re able, help us offset the costs below ⬇️

I really don't have any words about this story. It's just so deeply upsetting. Fuck the women who decided to police the bathroom and fuck the guard for doing this.

This story explains a LOT of things: ChatGPT appears to be rooting on sociopathic mental illness by validating every delusion of grandeur.

It also explains, in part, the hype cycle around AI: rich people, addicted to praise, invented a Compliment Machine.

If you're not masking and pretending the ongoing Covid pandemic is over, kindly shut the fuck up about vaccine hesitancy and vax rates. You are the one contributing to the problem and helping to dismantle public health! @juliadoubleday.bsky.social outlines it all very well here:
Liberals joined conservatives to mainstream anti-vax beliefs about viruses and public health
Viruses are bad for kids' health. Public health is a collective effort. Liberals no longer believe either.

When I see a story about a tourist or an immigrant subjected to sadistic cruelty at the hands of the US government, my mind flashes back to the feelings of vulnerability provoked by Midnight Express. I've often thought of that film as I traveled to *other* countries. That exceptionalism is gone.

This will mean that the more "antisemitism" is fought by this administration, the more Jews will be endangered.

Real antisemitism will be encoded as allowable. The far right antisemites in power will gain even more power. And the Jews will be blamed for the crackdown.

Perfect combo for fascists.

As I've said many times: Antisemitism accusations are the tip of the spear of the fascist invasion.

It is the one device they were able to use effectively pre-election, so now they have a precedent to use it at will.

This is neither minor nor a side issue. It is the main method to silence dissent.

notable how different this is from both classical liberal and neoliberal capitalist rhetoric, which typically emphasizes dynamism and opportunity - the ability to have a better life than your parents had, to change your station, to achieve anything. here by contrast the vision is neo-feudal, static.
