So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Important context on this issue:

- it is WILDLY expensive in Seattle to follow the rules for a street vendor. it's not just health code. bsky.app/profile/r343...

- County health dept wants to focus on helping abide by health rules. These enforcements ain't that. www.thestranger.com/food-issue-2...

Hockey rumor via Kate Shefte (Seattle Times): Seattle women’s hockey team may have been revealed as the Torrent!

Unconfirmed but fits in line with our other women’s professional sports teams named after weather like Storm & Reign (homophone)

Seattle ”Torrent” 1st season game is Nov 21 (away game)

@jseattle.bsky.social what is going on here?
Considering this is on the RapidRide G's final design plan and (presumably) part of the EIS for the project, I am very curious how SDOT is justifying removal. Especially since Metro, at least as of several months ago, was planning on bringing the 2 trolleys back this fall or next spring.

@councilmember-amr.bsky.social Could we get a Seattle version of WA SB 5903 (21-22) which didn’t make it out of committee? The law would require businesses offering drive-up service to also serve people walking or biking. I feel like this makes sense within city limits especially!
