Final vote. 50-50. VP breaks the tie.

One single GOP Senator could have stopped this abomination. Saved millions of parents from watching their child go hungry. Saved the lives destroyed when Medicaid disappears.

They will all live forever with the horror of this bill.

I don't understand why @peters.senate.gov keeps voting with MAGA. He's not even running for reelection! Michiganders need answers.
The anti-science GOP operative Michael Kratsios, Trump's Office of Science and Tech Policy nominee, was backed in committee this morning by a vote of 24-4. Democrats Cantwell (ranking member), Klobuchar, Peters, Baldwin, Duckworth, Rosen, Lujan, Hickenlooper, Fetterman join Republicans in support.

I always love listening to the #ApocalypticOptimist @fisherdanar.bsky.social talk about climate action. Today on a question re: traditional media failing the movement, she called out @amywestervelt.bsky.social and the @apnews.com as good sources covering activism. 👍

Except maybe the other recent EPA « press releases » that have simply linked to Breitbart stories 🤢

Why don’t we ask all the billionaires to give us five bullet points on how their tax cuts have helped or trickled down to the rest of us?

Just like Sandy Hook didn’t end the gun lobby’s power in this country, the LA fires will do nothing to reduce the oil and gas industry’s global destruction.

UNLESS we all act. Will we?
Los Angeles is burning. Fossil fuel companies laid the kindling. Soon the world will stop caring.

If we don't demand better from the rich & powerful who can do more than anyone to slow the climate crisis, the fires will change nothing. My @latimes.com column: www.latimes.com/environment/...
Column: Los Angeles is a climate disaster. The fires will change nothing
If you think America’s finally going to deal with global warming because L.A. is burning, think again.
