The goal of nonviolent civil resistance is to convince the people to work together to make it impossible for the regime to sustain itself.

Quick reminder to my American friends that 5calls.org is still here, ready to help channel your grief and rage into three(!) short calls to your elected representatives. It just takes 5 minutes, and it really is healthier (and more effective) than doomscrolling. Plus you'll feel better afterwards.
5 Calls
Spend 5 minutes. Make 5 calls. Make your voice heard.

I am so grateful to the #climate nerds at @projectdrawdown.bsky.social for creating the Drawdown Explorer: a transparent, rigorous, and thoughtful evaluation of potential #climatesolutions. Highly recommend bookmarking it — an indispensable resource: drawdown.org/insights/cli...
Climate solutions aren’t created equal. Here’s how we evaluate what works and what doesn’t.
Just as science has led the way in describing the problem of climate change, we at Project Drawdown are using science to guide resources toward the most effective solutions to the crisis.

I figured it was a matter of time before the US joined the list of countries whose economic statistics were no longer reliable.
Jerome Powell revealed that staffers at the Fed think the government could be overestimating the number of jobs created by 60,000 each month.

The true numbers could be closer to a loss of 20,000 jobs a month. trib.al/Hy0ihvh

Message from the Hopi Elders, Oraibi, AZ

You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour,
now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour.
And there are things to be considered…
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?

I'm so proud of my son Elliot, who dropped his first official album today. Yes, I'm his mom and biggest fan -- but I can also be his biggest critic. And I gotta say, this album is really great, and worth a listen: full of lyrical heartbreak and wry humor. Enjoy. music.apple.com/us/album/bet...

Socialism is what they called public power.

Socialism is what they called social security.

Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.

Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.
