This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.

Them: “I’m sick of subsidizing their groceries when mine cost so much”

SNAP does not drive up grocery prices.

That would be inflation, tariffs & corporate greed.

For every $1 spent on SNAP there’s a $1.50 going back into the economy.

While you’re blaming the poor, the rich are robbing everyone.

Amazon announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

Intel announced 20,000 layoffs. Its new CEO's pay package is valued at nearly $69M.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"

One of the unacknowledged advantages of this awful era is that it's revealing for all to see the putrid connections between great wealth and great power.

The intentions of the oligarchs are fully exposed and more blatant than ever.

But remember: We outnumber the oligarchs.

#TaxTheRich. Because greed should never be policy

#TaxTheRich. Because justice costs money, and the wealthy have plenty.

#TaxTheRich. Because a society that worships billionaires forgets its soul.

#TaxTheRich. Because enough is enough.

Walmart, McDonalds and Amazon are the largest employers of people who require SNAP assistance.

The CEOs earned between 18-40 million last year, 1000x their median employee income.

They took billions in profits, while their workers relied on SNAP to survive.

Wanna fix fraud and abuse?

Fix that.

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

After the massive success of #NoKingsDay, folks have asked, what's the next step? Here's one of the ideas. Instead of #BlackFriday we go a #BlackoutWeek an #EconomicBlackout Turn #BuyNothingDay into #BuyNothingWeek
Get your essentials the week before. Buy local, farmers' markets. Starve the beast.
