NEW REPORT from Rutgers: As of May 2025, the total number of federal wage theft investigators -- 611 -- has reached its lowest level since 1973.

The authors estimate that minimum wage workers lose more each year from wage theft than all Americans lose from property theft.

The firing of the Librarian of Congress is worse than many appreciate. The Librarian is appointed for a ten year term by the president with the advice and consent of the Senate. The position is nonpartisan and runs the critically important Congressional Research Service.

In 2021, state-organized forced labor - including child labor - in Uzbekistan’s cotton sector ended. Since then, workers have been organizing for fair wages, safe conditions & a real voice on the job - creating a path for cotton products that benefit working people, brands & the global market.

Can we talk about just how absurd this is? For the Uzbekistan project, $2M was already obligated back in FY2022. So they "saved" $1.1M. But here's the thing: Uzbekistan is transitioning from a state-imposed forced labor system in cotton production. They are the 6th largest producer globally.
