If I describe something as "Absurdly large" and a similar thing as "Comically large", which is bigger?

A genderfluid thing I need to work on is feeling that any complaint about an entire gender is directed at me, while any compliment about an entire gender clearly doesn't apply.

"Why is X activity woke?"

Is X activity linked to neurodivergence? Because if so, there's a lot of us that have a strong sense of justice, a loose relationship with tradition, and the inclination to make our activities welcoming to both those ideals.

There are two viewpoints of allies that I'm cutting out of my life right now:

"There's nothing to be done."
and
"These people who aren't doing enough are just as bad or worse than the bad people."

Sometimes, small progress is all you can do. But there is absolutely progress that can be done.

Running into a problem in behavioral interviews where they ask me "Tell me about a time you experienced <x negative situation> and how you handled it."

If I didn't prepare an answer for exactly X... my memory doesn't work like that. I do not have immediate access to those memories.

Stock market changes in direction start to make a lot more sense when you realize just how many investors aren't trying to value the company correctly, but are instead just trying to figure out how much they can sell it to somebody else.

Look, I usually don't mind being gender fluid and having my gender switch around uncontrollably.

But like, can I have _one_ Day of Visibility where I want to go all out?

Stupid gender. Be less fluid.

If you are yelling at elected Democrats not doing enough because "It wouldn't change anything, and it'd limit my ability to actually change things when it'd matter"...

_AND_ that's the EXACT same excuse you're using to not be in the streets protesting right now...

Shut up. Be consistent.

I don't trust anybody who says a metric needs to move one direction or another if they can't also say

1) how far would be too far.
2) what the current value is.

Just as a "Let's not all explode all the time": if a state or congress "introduces a bill" that doesn't mean it has any chance of passing. It probably won't even make it out of committee. It could be just a single person going crazy.

What I'm trying to say is- name the person. Get _them_ out.

@danshive.bsky.social My 12 year old just finished reading through the EGS archive! They really liked it. Thank you for your comic.

I'm struggling with dealing with people who have started to feel comfortable opening up to me about their misandry.

On the one hand, yay gendering.

On the other hand... I mean... I don't know what I can say in response to any of that? Anything I say in defense is just going to sound...

Meh.

I'm having a "Hey, this term is terribly imprecise, maybe we shouldn't be writing our laws and rules and such with it until we come up with a better categorization" moment about AI and I'd really like to just turn off that part of my autism for like... a few hours so I can get some work done.

I ask people what they think Democrats ought to do. I always hear one of these:

1. Stuff they did actually do
2. Stuff they tried to do but were stopped by Republicans
3. Stuff they cannot do, constitutionally
4. Crimes.

@howardtayler.bsky.social My 12 year old kid had struggled with media in which characters die, and I finally got them to a point that I was comfortable recommending Schlock to them.

They loved it. And I honestly think it helped them come to terms with some of their emotions around the subject.

"Heads up, piping hot CL coming in to fix a severe break, need it reviewed ASAP."

"Cool! Reviewed, left a comment- Can we align the text differently? I'll loop in design to talk about it."

"... Did you approve the CL?"

"No, I didn't think it looked good."

I used to do a lot of life drawing.

I saw some beautiful sketches lately and my immediate mental response wasn't "I want to draw like that again", it was "I want somebody to draw me like that so I can see the beauty in my body like that."

So I'm going to work through some stuff for a bit.
