Would love to see Harvard tell Trump admin to pound sand. Their alumni can make up any lost USG funding if necessary. Then deny USG benefits of not-funded academic research. Harvard was there long before USA was a thing and will apparently be there long after, too.

Even if you agree with some of the goals, the destruction of bureaucracy by DOGE, and the inability of Trump to focus, promise only the most dystopian, dysfunctional version of this - undercutting any possible benefit. Not to mention the violation of a whole lot of civil rights.

If you're a Democratic elected leader and ever find yourself about to say "well...I think Trump has the right idea here in some ways..." just...fucking...stop. This is not the moment for nuanced policy discussions. Stop trying to give him credit. No one wants to hear nuance or wonky policy talk now!
