Can’t do social media anymore. I was never very active but I don’t feel comfortable consuming anymore. These Sora videos are a bit too convincing, and while some of the details give it away, if the content is emotionally triggering I’m not checking details. We’re gonna have to figure something out.

Carolina Wolf Spiders are found throughout North America. They typically live in burrows and hunt by stalking their prey. This is gorgeous female was found on a desert night hike near Portal, AZ. #arachtober

Wrong type of hummingbird but I’ll take it while the real deal sits in a tree and decides if I’m a monster.

A robin made a nest in one of my plant pots right outside my studio. The baby birds are hatching today.

One of the most bizarre-looking insects at @tapirvalley.bsky.social is the Leistotrophus versicolor, a species of rove beetle that feeds on tapir dung.

The first time I saw one of these, I thought I had discovered an alien.

Here's the video of the Fiery-throated Hummingbird attempting to get dry during a heavy rain at Paraiso Quetzal Lodge in #CostaRica. They really don't like being wet, as they can't fly or nectar.

Hello new followers, in addition to birds I spend the warmer months chasing bugs. Here is a fun one for #FlyWeek, a stalk-eyed fly found in the Ecuadorian cloud forest.

The bunny harvestman (Metagryne bicolumnata) looks like a bunny operating a spider-legged mech-suit.

Native to the rainforests of Ecuador, they're harmless (no venom glands) & eat rotting vegetation & some small insects.

They belong to Order Opiliones. Just a little guy.
